Staff Training and Development
Your team gets a shared language and tools they can use the next day: Impact Statements, Restorative Questions, and Proactive and Responsive Circles.
Best for: schools and organizations ready to build a shared culture.
Rooted in Relationship. Built for Change.
Re-Approach helps schools and organizations build cultures of high accountability and high support, so staff stay, students engage, and leaders get to lead again.
A free 30-minute conversation. No pitch.
Your staff is burned out. Discipline feels like a revolving door. Leaders spend the day putting out fires instead of building culture. People are checked out, and the usual fixes aren't working.
The problem might not be your people. It could be the approach.
There's a better way to lead, and it starts with relationship.
People thrive and grow when leaders choose to do things WITH them, not TO them, not just FOR them, and never NOT at all.
Every leader, every day, lands somewhere on this window.
TO
Punitive“Because I said so.”
Do TO people. High accountability, low support. Control through authority. Punish mistakes. Comply or else.
WITH
Restorative“Let's figure this out together.”
Work WITH people. High accountability and high support. Partner in the process. Restore and grow. This is the Re-Approach Zone™.
NOT
Disconnected“It's not my problem.”
Low on both. Ignore or avoid. No follow-through. People feel invisible.
FOR
Permissive“I'll take care of it for you.”
Do FOR people. High support, low accountability. Rescue and protect. Good intentions, limited growth.
Right: more support · Up: more accountability
The Re-Approach Relational Matrix plots accountability on the vertical axis and support on the horizontal axis. Top left: TO, punitive. Top right: WITH, restorative. Bottom left: NOT, disconnected. Bottom right: FOR, permissive.
Where do you land most days? We help your whole team locate themselves, and then move.
It starts with a conversation. From there we build around your people, your culture, and your goals. That can be a micro training, a full-day session, or an annual or multi-year implementation partnership. No cookie-cutter programs.
Your team gets a shared language and tools they can use the next day: Impact Statements, Restorative Questions, and Proactive and Responsive Circles.
Best for: schools and organizations ready to build a shared culture.
One-on-one and small group coaching for principals, directors, and executives who want to lead WITH their people. We work on the real stuff: how you show up, how you communicate, how you build trust.
Best for: leaders who want a thought partner.
We come alongside your leadership team to look at your culture, find the gaps, and build systems that support your people. From discipline redesign to whole-school culture shifts, we build it with you.
Best for: teams ready for change that lasts past the training day.
Training creates awareness. Implementation creates change.
Most schools stop at awareness. We stay for the part where it sticks.
“Well over 10 behavior covenants one year. Zero the next.”
Cornerstone Schools of Washington, DC
“We had no behavior covenants last year after well over 10 the year before. Conflicts and negative behaviors were addressed proactively, honoring and loving students while calling them to take responsibility. It works!”
Dean Luckenbaugh
Executive Director, Cornerstone Schools of Washington, DC
A behavior covenant is Cornerstone's formal behavior agreement. A student placed on one can be removed from the school if it's broken.
“It impacted my approach by making me more intentional about building relationships and guiding reflection. We have immediately adopted so much of what we learned from our Re-Approach training.”
“Since becoming part of our journey, Neil has helped elevate our team's awareness, strengthen relationships, and significantly increase overall engagement, leaving a lasting and positive impact on our organization.”
“Your support allowed us to shed the defensive armor we had developed for our protection.”

I'm the founder of Re-Approach. For more than 20 years I've worked alongside schools, nonprofits, and organizations in over 20 states, helping people build stronger relationships and lead through real change.
I hold a bachelor's in sociology with a focus in human services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I'm an IIRP-Certified National Trainer and a John Maxwell Certified Leader, Coach, Trainer, and Speaker.
Re-Approach didn't start in a boardroom. It started in the hallways of the schools I was helping to lead, first as an assistant principal and then as a director of restorative practices. From there it grew into my home, around my kitchen table, as a husband and a father. That's why I'll never treat this as just a program.
